AS I say in my about me page my main interest has always been in video and I am still hoping to develop my skills in particular learning to use a DSLR for video and learning to stream live material.
Over the years I have made a number of video starting with the Open Day videos while I was a teacher at St Francis School, Dorset. My most recent projects have been some short Bible Stories for the Pontesbury Deanery Open the Book teams.
As this site is only a small site (cheap hosting), I shall not be loading many videos to this site but instead publishing them to my Vimeo and YouTube sites.
The links below will take you to the individual videos currently on those sites. In future this site blog will include links to new videos that I have uploaded.
Climbing Out – a video for a charity that supports young people with medical conditions to take part in outdoor activities. I made this short video in the Lake District in 2013. You can find out more about their work here
NT45 Weekend – for many years I helped run National Trust volunteer holidays and made videos about some of them. This video is about the Working Holiday Leaders weekend in 2012. Sadly the Trust has decided to scrap these holidays with effect from 2020 so I cannot provide a link to the site. I may add some more holiday videos as I come across them in my 2021 Declutter.
2017 London Marathon – I took part in the 2017 London Marathon on behalf of Best Beginnings – part of the Heads Together group of charities that were the official charity of that marathon. You can read more about my marathon exploits (or not) on my companion site Slow Distance Runner. This video is one I made one Saturday afternoon with my cameraperson Susan as a potential fund-raising video.
In 2012, 2017 and 2018 I produced a series of multi-camera videos of concerts run by a fellow Rotarian Gareth Jenkins. These involved using several cameras to record the performance and me learning some editing skills. I used Premier Pro for these edits and PluralEyes for audio synchronisation in the 2012 version. As you can see from the videos I am still learning about colour correction. I cannot link to all the videos as Gareth asked me to keep them private.
In 2020 I produced a number of short videos for the Pontesbury Open the Book Team and you can find more information here.
Also in 2020 I began sorting out a lot of my old footage from the past and I put together a video about the 2011 Good Friday Pilgrimage (a local community event). I was delighted to get permission from Vicki Swann and Jonny Dyer to use some of their music in the video. This links to the video on my Vimeo site.
