Update December 2025

I shall be adding a new post to this page over the next day or so but I now have to make a cup of tea!.

So this has been a busy year and I am grateful to still be here. And so I decided I ought to continue (begin again) to develop this site.

I have chronicled my physical activities (sort of) on my slowdistancemoving.uk site and this has given me the chance to develop some web development skills but also to use the summer’s new toy which is an Insta360 X5 camera. I used it on the Tour de 4 charity ride and also the Shine Walk in London. However I still have to turn the footage into final videos. I did however make time for making a video of my stormy exploits on the Velo Retro ride in early June.

My old MacBook Air

In January I bought a new Mac (M4) and decided to use this for video making. It only has a 512Gb hard drive so I use a couple of portable SSD’s for media storage. Then in December I decided to buy a new laptop – a MacBook Pro M4 Pro which I shall also use for video editing. At the same time I sold my 2021 MacMini M1 and my two MacBookAirs bought in 2023 and 2024.

Hope Church

I use my other computer, a M1 Mac Studio for web development and general work. Most of the work has been on slowdistancemoving.uk. I also set up a site for fundraising on behalf of our local church. This can be found at hthope.church. I also have another couple of websites that I play with occasionally to develop my skills with WordPress. I am beginning to understand block themes although I am also using Elementor on this site.

I haven’t really done much with still photography although I developed a gallery for the Hope Church website. This has involved using a couple of photo applications and have settled on Pixelmator Pro and Photomator.

I have also dabbled a bit with AI. I have produced some cute animation type portraits using Apple Playground and recently with Envato Elements and Leonardo AI. I am getting better with prompts and hopefully can produce some useful images and video over time. When our great-niece was here in December we developed a short video and generated some images and video to support the story.
