Things are moving on

I have had a very busy year. Between March and August I assembled a recorded service for our local group of churches. Most weeks this involved putting together the service from contributions sent to me. I added subtitles, music and titles etc. You can see the progression in my skill from the first service to the last. You can find all the videos on the YouTube channel by following the links above.

I also attempted to record two live services – one at St George’s Pontesbury and the other at Holy Trinity Minsterley. The actual recording went well enough but putting the videos together took very much longer than I thought (not helped by the IMac having a crisis). The final products are still very amateurish and the sound is particularly disappointing, particularly from the St George’s service. You can find the two services on the group Youtube channel.

In addition to this work I produced a number of videos for the Pontesbury Deanery Open the Book Teams. After relaxation of the initial lockdown in 2020 we did some live recordings in local churches. With the introduction of the lockdown in January 2021 we could not meet and I produced videos with readings by various parishioners. To make it more interesting I began experimenting with simple 2D animation using Apple Motion and simple .png images, stock video and animations. This was a very steep learning curve but the final products were welcomed and I was much more confident with all aspects. I am still very much a newbie but enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately due to licensing restrictions I am not able to link to any of the full videos.

Things have settled now and the cameras are now largely unused. My focus has turned to producing websites and I am now managing the local church group site, the village hall site and I am transferring my slowdistancerunner site. Have a look at these if you have time and see the progression.

The next post will be produced with Elementor!. Onward Learning!!
